this morning, new evidence had emerged out of nowhere. given that it came from reliable sources, he had no choice but to throw up his hands & surrender to the flow. lo & behold, right before he began to pour his second cup of coffee, there was a forceful knock at his front door. why did they choose to announce their arrival by pounding away when there was a perfectly amazing star-wars-themed doorbell right there? he would never know. for most of his last minute on earth, as he crossed the floor to face his fate, he couldn’t get the thought out of his head. it stayed there up until the moment the two gentlemen on the other side of the door shot the thought right out of him.
