this morning, individuality was the driving force behind his decision to wear a pretty, flowered dress to sunday service. he knew that god loves all his children. he knew that god knows them by name. he knew that some of his fellow congregants would chose to shame him for finally trying to feel comfortable. preaching without the pulpit. there was nothing he could do about that. that was on them. they needed to go back & consult their bible, see what it had to say about doing unto others. he knew the book like the back of his hand and, most of the time, lived by the words & values within it. he knew which views to listen to. they weren’t the ones that discounted his beauty.
