this morning #643.
this morning, the line between “confident man” & “confidence man” had become blurred. smeared? fused together as one? scamming had never been the plan but, after a couple of long cons spawned a few years of living large, his bravado had ballooned into something much more brash. there were so many saps ripe for the tapping & he needed to get his just like they had. it wasn’t like he was acting without honor. he had his own code. he wasn’t a monster. preying on people’s compassion or desperation was off the table, but if he found a mark who stank of greed or vanity, it was game on. they didn’t deserve all they had. he was confident about that.
