this morning #549.

this morning, she had finally seen something real & the overwhelming feeling made it nigh impossible for her to concentrate on much of anything else. as she sat at the red light, a fog enveloped her & a rapid loop of twenty seconds ago shot across her eyelids. across the block, a girl of around eight, head high in the clouds, had stepped off of the curb without looking. seconds before a vehicle sped by & tossed her into the air, a man waiting for the light to change grabbed her by the backpack & yanked her up onto the sidewalk. after seeing that, when the light changed, all she could do was pull through it & pull over, turn off the engine & have a good, long reflection on life & death.
