this morning #547.

this morning, all she was focused on was the geometric shapes of the tall buildings on the far western edge of her city. stacked-up sets of squares & rectangles, mostly. they kept watch over her daily, casting lengthy shadows across the aves to the east, constantly reminding her that she was but a tiny speck amongst millions in one pitiful city in an infinite universe. she didn’t feel small though. in fact, she had grown used to it long ago. while she tried to appreciate the enormity of her environment, she mostly just took it for granted. the tornado pace of this place had swept her up & more often than not, she was simply a cog in the fog of it all.
