this morning #50.

this morning, a hurried scan through the day ahead led to furious moves around rooms & visions of every little thing that he had to live up to today. as he rushed past the bedroom mirror, he stopped as he caught sight of his side profile, with its ultimately inaccessible excesses. so much hair, front & back. more sweat than necessary. top-heavy and full of air & water. paler than irish. constructed from years of wu wei & a lifetime of chance. all that beef & beer was really paying off in spades. what was important though was that he had enough motivation to get up on stages throughout the city night after night & use it all to his advantage. he’d do it again today.
