this morning, she curled her hair. in the cool of the tile of the walls of the bathroom, everything apparent would change. face. hair. disposition. powders & heat & making it up for the rest of them. making a point to be kept. making up excuses. excuse #1: everyone was so mean. excuse #2: she inherited her mother's nose. excuses #3-50: she inherited the rest of her mother's traits. "mother made me." in the morning, she started with pop songs and popped zits and pop tarts. unfrosted. LIKE HER HEART OVER THESE FEW WEEKS. her clothes were baller. her shoes made her taller. the curve of her smile was crooked. she posed twice or thrice, with her ass to the back, with a sense she could hold it all in.
