this morning #491.

this morning, her main message to the man on the other end of the line was “your cable service is absolute horse shit and i, a loyal, paying customer, demand satisfaction.” this elicited a bunch of scripted words of compassion that did next to nothing to calm her “concerns.” in her best entitled white lady voice, she demanded to speak with his supervisor. after a brief hold where she was left alone with a muzak “careless whisper,” a woman’s soft southern accent cut in with “hi. my name is mabel. i understand you’re unhappy with your cable. how would i be able to help?” she laughed back at her. having a name that rhymed with the source of the static helped more than she knew.
