this morning #39.

this morning, he kicked things off by sinking down into his pillow and holding his breath. for a full sixty seconds of increasingly lightheaded calm, the refrigerator & air conditioner hums flowed past him…trying to keep it cool. sure, there were a department store’s worth of rationales for why he & his precious life had become so convincingly convoluted. in less than a week, he would have to gather up all of his worldly possessions — boxes & boxes of never-looked-at accumulations, the bed he currently laid on, a decade’s worth of worthless memories — and transfer them to a decidedly smaller space. life would be much more compact from here on out.
