this morning #473.

this morning, in the bustle of the breakroom, she stood silent in front of the four-cup coffee maker waiting for it to do its thing. it was still early but the office was uncharacteristically quiet this morning. today, it worked for her. she was in dire need of a moment to weed through her overgrown thoughts, none of which had to do with the work she’d be expected to do today. maybe she would duck out at lunch & pay a visit to the chapel. pray on it. ask god what to do. get the energy to stay calm while her husband kept messing up. his actions would one day infect her & when they did, it would eventually seep into her work life. she was terrified of her coworkers learning that she was hurting.
