this morning #443.

this morning, pulling her hoodie hood tight despite the stifling heat outside, she peered out the window, grabbed her house keys & hurried off toward the corner shop. 1500 steps round trip. that & an interaction with the shopkeeper was all that was required of her. on most days, even that was too much to muster. today though, she was determined to tamp down her antisocial tendencies, make an appearance in the world, make it appear that she hadn’t entirely abandoned interacting with others. in theory, all she had to do was realize that they weren’t all mocking her. in reality, most of them didn’t even notice her. in the end, if she wanted to be noticed, she could start by taking off the hood.
