this morning, happiness was a heavily relative state of mind but he didn’t mind that she thought his actions were a sign of satisfaction. it made it easier to mask dissatisfaction. keeping busy helped him pass the time & if that translated into helping around the house, so be it. his distraction helped sustain her happiness. sustaining the ruse was starting to become a challenge though. relatively recently, he was free to do as he pleased. the arrest had changed all that though & while she was excited to have him home, he felt trapped, with the prospect of being trapped AND far away from her looming on the horizon. that night, he’d hit the road & fix the “trapped” part. he’d fix “far away” later.
