this morning, a weird wave of wanderlust washed over him & without realizing he had done so, he found himself walking barefoot down the beach. something about his home had changed & was beginning to drive him away. when he first moved in almost twenty-five years ago, he was in his late twenties & full of finance-fueled energy. living steps away from the ocean had been his dream since childhood but as each year passed from his initial purchase, the walk to the beach got shorter. now he was over fifty & it was time to head for higher ground before the water made it all the way to his doorstep. it was time to accept that climate change was real & life changes were even realer.
