this morning, her overly competitive spirit had brought her right up to the edge of finally pushing away the man she loved. all it would take is one short shove & he’d go right over the cliff. for the past year of their relationship, as she’d stylishly climbed the corporate ladder, she’d slylishly rubbed her success in his face. at first, it was all in good fun but once he lost his job, she missed the signs to take her foot off the gas. she’d believed that her taunts would lead to him being motivated. instead, they’d led to resentment & low self esteem & now it was up to her to take it all back, build him back up. she’d be on the other end of the scenario soon enough.
