this morning #297.
this morning, she kept the lights dimmed low though she didn’t care one bit if she woke anyone sharing her space. overly courteous. overly cautious. she always tried to be both but neither seemed to serve her any more. she softly shut the front door behind her & stepped out onto the porch just as the sun was peeking over the horizon. something she absorbed from its early morning palette gave her enough energy to get in gear for the day ahead. none of her roommates had her same level of ambition. as a result, her levels of pity for & resentment toward them had sharply risen over the course of the year. by the fall, those levels would fall but it took her moving out & on to make that happen.
