this morning #290.
this morning, a fiercely frigid draft was making its way into the cabin, so he threw a few logs into the wood stove, scooped up the kitty & slid back into bed until he felt the world was ready for him. he knew he was ready for it despite all the recent setbacks. life kept coming & he’d kept going. the cat’s hypnotic purr kept him calm while the fire’s sporadic crackle kept him content as it slowly spread heat throughout his new dwelling. up here in the hills, this year’s snowfall had lasted longer than he’d expected but he was blessed in stumbling upon this cozy abode, abandoned but inhabitable. remote but perfectly placed. its existence saved the lives of both he & his feline friend in more ways than one.
