this morning #285.

this morning, a spoonful of sugar had failed to make the medicine go down & he was left with the taste of metallic blood in his mouth. he spit the horse pills out into his hand. on mornings like these, he felt like the enormous capsules were equal parts impossible to live without & impossible to swallow. his overactive gag reflex didn’t help one bit. damn that day when that doctor gave him that diagnosis that shifted everything. one day he was running 10ks & the next he was living under doctor’s orders. on the plus side, his successful lawsuit against the company that did this to him made it so he never had to work again. it also bought him the pool that he’d be lounging by all day long.
