this morning #240.
this morning, a thick, purple tie won the war of the wardrobe & set his course for the day. on the floor of his scattered bedroom, a worn out pair of harvard sweatpants bowed down in defeat. he brought out a pair of pinstripe pants, a sharp, shiny vest & stark white wingtips to bring the entire ensemble into focus. dressed for success. today would be a day to remember, a day to reenter the job force after so much of the previous year was spent idle. sitting on couches. no business casual. just super casual. holding out for a lifeline. hoping employment would drop out of the sky & into his lap before the other shoe dropped. somehow, god answered his prayers. somehow, a job had arrived.
