this morning #2279.
this morning, she felt like she was going to melt. dribble down off of the chair & puddle up on the floor of this waiting room. pathetic AC. she fanned away the stale air with a tract that a street preacher who’s holding service right outside of the building had shoved into her hand. though she’s no longer religious, she still felt conflicted about instantly tossing it out. as she waved it back & forth in front of her face, something on the cover caught her eye. below a bold-faced REPENT was a crude sketch of a dismayed woman surrounded by flames due to the choices she’d made. basically a more extreme version of the sweltering conditions that she was enduring in this waiting room. the excessive message didn’t make her want to do a damn thing different though. she waved it away.
