this morning #2260.

this morning, before she’d say a word about what she’d done, she swore me to secrecy. made me say it twice & then, in hushed tones, recounted how the whole thing had started off harmless enough. two kids horsing around. there was no real rough stuff going down. then, out of nowhere, he knocked her to the ground. as he stood over her with a victorious grin on his face, she stared up & laughed back awkwardly out of shock. without thinking, she swung her left leg at his feet & watched as his body went parallel to the earth. as gravity took over, he came down hard. cracked his head on a rock. his body instantly went limp & blood began to blacken the dirt. out of fear, she just left him there. for all she knew, he was dead. i can’t believe she thought i’d keep that secret.
