this morning, she’d already been up for hours. all night probably. while i was all curled up in bed fast asleep, she was wide awake in the kitchen whipping up a feast. a four-course breakfast. gotta be honest here. had no idea that courses could be applied to breakfast. she continues to amaze me every day. our first course: a kaleidoscopic salad featuring a dozen different fruits. carefully cut & arranged in a bowl in the shape of a smiley face. next: fresh-baked mini corn muffins with a selection of homemade jams. lovingly toasted & buttered. that right there would’ve been enough but then came the kale & prosciutto frittata. for the final course, french toast sticks dusted with powdered sugar. i ate it all. then, as i sat there paralyzed by a food coma, she asked me for a little favor.
