this morning #2175.

this morning, the jacket he had on felt far too tight but he thought that he might be able to get through without anyone noticing or even caring. it wasn’t like he had much of a choice either way. the pants still fit. he’d just have to leave the jacket unbuttoned. after yesterday’s hour-long phone call with a woman in HR, she’d called first thing this morning. asked if he could stop by the office for an interview at noon today. of course he was free so he’d agreed. hung up & immediately went to the closet. fished his suit out from the back. held it up in the light to see if it was clean. seemed like it was. he gave it a sniff. no noticeable odors. thanked the lord but still wished he’d thought to prepare for this part of the job hunt.
