this morning #2124.
this morning, the lost poet proposed one of his most far out scenarios so far. there were four of us seated around the table. two men. two women. fast friends for decades. throughout the years, we’ve always humored his fantastical ideas. we’re essentially all single except for my dying on & off long-distance relationship so he suggested: “we’re almost forty. none of us are married. what if we randomly paired off into couples to see what happens? it could be like one of those reality shows.” i let out an uneasy laugh but i was the only one who did. the thought experiment escalated from there. by the end of breakfast & much deliberation, they’d actually convinced me to give it a shot. then came the drawing of the straws.
