this morning #2004.

this morning, this hip! this hip is the pits. been this way since ‘06 & it just keeps getting worse. little bit each day. doc says it’s likely an injury from my high school football career. the wear & tear of those four years & all those hits has led to this. from a star running back showered with praise to a middle-aged man with a limp & a cane. a hanging persistent pain raising its hand & begging for attention with every single step. surgery? sure. one day this hip will have to be replaced. medical debt be damned. can’t keep living like this & i refuse to give in to the quick fix of a stronger painkiller. maybe you’ve heard this but believe me. i’ve seen it. with those things, there’s always a chance that they’ll kill more than your pain.
