this morning #1961.

this morning, i was in hot pursuit & then he darted out into traffic. weaved between the cars. somehow made it over to the other side & took off in a full sprint down the sidewalk. as i followed him across the street, fast but cautious, dodging screeching tires & horn honks, the distance between us quickly tripled & he turned a corner, disappearing out of sight. tried to increase my speed but when i turned that same corner, all i found was a street devoid of any people stretching out before me. had to admit that i’d lost him. had no idea he was that fast. had no idea that he was so set on avoiding me that he’d risk his life to get away. no sweat. i’ll catch up to him eventually & when i do, he’ll have no choice but to tell me the truth.
