this morning #1864.

this morning, one of the seedlings had finally poked through the soil. the first sign of life in her new vegetable garden. happened overnight. a lone tomato plant early in its journey. it had no idea that it was part of a much larger plan. had no way of knowing that it & thousands of seedlings still stuck below the soil were starting new lives in service of helping her start a new life of her own. on her own. self-sustaining. far away from others. if it knew this, it might be inclined to ask her to share more of her story. it’s a tangled tale. partially hopeful. woefully tragic. she likes to say that she’s “lived a life that led her here.” led to a plan to live off the land. handle her own existence. no dependence. no distractions. no need to ever go back.
