this morning #1849.

this morning, he sold his soul. got a pretty sweet deal. signed right on the dotted line. in blood. sort of a steal. forty-year term. regular rewards. devil arrived without warning while he was shaving, made the bargain & then disappeared in a puff of grey smoke. half-hour transaction tops. every so often, as he made his way through life, reaping the rewards from the sale of his soul, he tried to remind himself to be aware of his actions. practice gratitude. from what he’d seen in movies, these pacts with satan usually go wrong when people get greedy. he swore that he had more restraint than those fools. made it all the way into his sixties without giving in to his instincts. learned the hard way that he should’ve read the fine print.
