this morning, she tried to address the situation directly. brought it up over breakfast instead of just accepting it. though these first few days of their reunion had been overflowing with elation, the awkward interactions that they’d foreseen due to their time apart kept rearing their head when they least expected it. surprise! we’ve forgotten that we can ask each other for help. oh right. you don’t like it when i leave dirty dishes in the sink. i think i can remember that. just so you know, i no longer believe that we need to remove our shoes in the house. we can though. i mean…if you want. cool? cool. thanks, love. it means a lot that you brought it up. please. let’s keep doing this. let’s do our best to keep talking through the awkward.
