this morning, we took the funder on a tour of the two main sites. from the moment he arrived yesterday, he was itching to get an up-close look at what we’d learned. first, we took him to the site that we’d been studying the entire time. the larger of the two. at the foot of a hill near where two rivers meet. last month’s storm wiped out all the other ones but this one survived. based on our research, half of the land needs cleanup. then we went to the site we’d said bye to just a few days ago. smaller but cleaner. the one i knew he’d choose for whatever he plans to do. he lit up as cybil detailed how the soil was nutrient-dense. perfect for crops. he let out a whoop & then let out a cough. for ten minutes, that cough didn’t stop.
