this morning #1809.

this morning, after near-daily visits, after hours of searching & digging & careful analysis, it was time to say goodbye to one of our two main sites. when last month’s storm forced us to find new sites to survey, we chose this spot based on its proximity to one of the first ones we’d studied, one that’d flooded during the storm. in just over a month, we’d learned that this land is the cleanest that we’ve researched. our funder will probably set up shop here. we spent the whole day making sure we hadn’t missed anything key. then we packed up the van & drove away, left wondering what’ll become of the area once we turn over our findings. hopefully we haven’t condemned it to a future as the site of some sketchy scheme.

go back to the beginning.
