this morning #171.
this morning, he held hands with his beloved as the sun came up over the bay. the fog was finally starting to lift off of both them & their war-torn community, some sort of reward for surviving the horrors of the 80’s & the battles of the 90’s & the promise of the 2000’s. today was THEIR memorial day. jody, who had hosted lively salons in his home on beaver st. tom, with the good weed. andy, with red hair that helped you see him coming from a mile away. down-low carmelo, a guitar & needle-loving fixture of buena vista park. all painfully ushered away by pneumonias & tuberculosis & cancers. he thought of them fondly this morning. no more mourning their deaths. just their lives.
