this morning #1669.
this morning, in the course of my usual morning social media perusing, i learned that this dude i knew from one of my former bars unexpectedly passed away a few days before the end of the year. i scrolled & scrolled but couldn’t tell what the hell had happened to him. though we’d shared some good times, it wasn’t like we were all that close. hadn’t seen him in years so for all i know he’d been sick. ”unexpectedly.” a few of his friends used that word so i had to assume that his death came out of nowhere. 48. way too young regardless. heart attack? suicide? car accident? was it booze? come to think of it, i never saw him sober. could be that. oh well. i guess i’ll never know. tonight though, i’ll definitely give him a proper toast.
