this morning #1533.
this morning, before i’d even put a pair of pants on, i went out onto the patio & placed a call to the more rational of the two men we’d met with. we’d scheduled a meeting for this evening so i could collect my client’s payout. then, i awoke to a vague voicemail from that pesky detective & no longer felt that we had the luxury of waiting until tonight. we needed to get this behind us before sherlock holmes puts two & two together. of course, i didn’t share this reasoning with our soon-to-be ex-associate. i told him that i had child care issues and, without hesitation, he agreed to the time change. said he understood. he has kids too. said he’d see me at noon. as i returned to the kitchen, my son called for me from upstairs.
