this morning #1489.
this morning, over breakfast, i’d told my wife that i wasn’t sure where this case was going to take me. she reminded me that i’m a great detective. said i’d be fine no matter what direction my investigation went. i wasn’t concerned about that at all. sometimes her blind love hinders more than helps. she doesn’t appreciate that there’s a clear air of foul play swirling around. i’d witnessed that blaze firsthand. the flames were literally out of control. not much that the firemen could do but keep it from spreading. one minute, the whole home was there. then it wasn’t. i entered the fire chief’s office & the investigator rose to greet me. i could see that he was suspicious of me. i made sure to shake his hand with an extra bit of grip.
