this morning #1485.
this morning, i received a comically panicked phone call from one of my clients. it started off calm enough but as soon as i brought up what the fire chief had said, how he’d led the press to believe that there might be more to his suburban house fire than a few faulty wires, my client quickly spiraled. assurances of innocence. do they really think he did this for the insurance? paranoid theories. he knew of many men who might want to send a message. he started elaborating but i stopped him cold. told him if he wanted to talk further, we’d have to do so in the privacy of my office. i had a feeling he had lots of info to share & i don’t trust that my phone’s not tapped. given who he is, he shouldn’t believe that his is clean either.
