this morning #1481.
this morning, the chief & i met up in his office bright & early to discuss our initial findings around yesterday’s fire. the burn patterns. the intensity. the smell. we could tell that some firebug had started that blaze. that much was clear. any minute now, the detective we’d called in will arrive & we’ll see if he can add anything meaningful to my investigation. i’m skeptical that he can but the chief insisted that we get him down here & listen to what he has to say. just in case. i know these alpha male detective types. they’re so obsessed with being in charge. if he stays in his lane, we’ll get along fine. he can chime in on the criminality all he likes but if he doesn’t respect that i’m the expert when it comes to fires, he’s gonna get burnt.
