this morning #1476.

this morning, we’d literally dodged a bullet. after we’d managed to talk the husband down off the ledge & got him to lower his gun, we had a quick, civil discussion. the result: he made us swear to stay silent about today’s events. we agreed. he’d forgive us our trespassing. we’d ignore the pistol pointing & the nazi stuff that we’d found in his shed. he said a bunch of nonsense about how, if we told anyone, he knew how to find us. he’d “finish the job.” i knew that he was totally bluffing but didn’t let on. i also didn’t let on that i was a reporter and, although i wasn’t sure what the heck it was, i knew that i’d stumbled onto some sort of story. i wasn’t focused on that though. mostly, i was just happy about not being shot.

go back to the beginning.
