this morning, the news was not necessarily the news. his best friend lance was coming by with a vhs containing a bunch of episodes he’d never seen. his cheap parents wouldn’t spring for hbo. what sniglets would the episodes birth? he’d been working on a few of his own & was excited to show them off. lance’s approval was key & if ratified, he’d be confident enough to submit them to the show’s hollywood p.o. box. he was really only in it for the sniglets. the show’s political humor meant little to his nine-year-old brain. he only laughed because he knew where the punch line fell. years later he got the joke. margaret thatcher & ronald reagan were evil humans deserving of mockery.
