this morning #140.

this morning, the skeletons were all coming out of the closet. in all the craziness, he had completely slacked on putting up the halloween decorations. the holiday had snuck up on him. most days these days were sneaky like that ever since he’d had to bury his father & empty his childhood home. in the home’s dank basement, a tarp concealed he & his siblings’ varied toys & projects. there was way too much china in the sunny dining room. in the stuffiness of the attic, he encountered a locked crate that, after much prying, revealed a locked photo album that, after much prying revealed that his father had a second family. this family was actually happy.
