this morning #1366.
this morning, we started off with a mantra for the dearly departed. not quite a prayer but still spiritual. “you are with me” for sixty seconds. we repeated the phrase enough for us to really hear the words for what they really are. he likes starting the service like this, says it’s good to be reminded that we carry the past with us at all times. it also helps us know we’re not alone. “you are with me.” he told us to picture someone who’s no longer with us. bring them into our minds. recall a time when we felt connected to them. let that energy rise to the surface. sit with it. let the image stick. once the minute was finished, he led us through a series of breathing exercises. i felt my mom breathing with me.
