this morning, we kept marching forth despite how weary we were. we kept marching forth despite how much we’ve had to fight so far. over the loudspeaker in a low monotone: “keep calm. calm down. relax. chill. dudes. we’ll address your issue soon. patience is a virtue.” the virtuous addressing the jaded. someone up front heard this & decided they’d waited long enough. she screamed back at the voice. uttered epithets. her words were exactly the motivation that both sides needed. as we started to surge forward, the sprinklers came on & began to rain down on us. they thought it’d stop us but for almost ten minutes, we fought off the falling water. caused a lot of chaos. then the police stormed in.
