this morning #1348.

this morning, it was taking a double-sized dose of doublethink for me to be convinced that tonight was going to turn out ok. i’m well aware that the guest list features folks with conflicting opinions. that’s usually the case. we applaud debate around this house. what makes this time different is that, in this instance, there are a few guests who have quite strong opinions on race & aren’t shy about sharing them. it’s obviously a hot button issue. high potential for things to get heated. it’s not like we’ve invited any blatant racists, per se. it’s more like they haven’t had enough exposure. hopefully tonight changes that. either cooler heads will prevail or we’ll have to kick people out before they come to blows.
