this morning, we sat in the back of the room. with the lights down low, i stretched my arm all the way across the back of her chair & traced a heart into the fabric of her sweater. retraced it again & left my hand on her shoulder blade. she sat still. didn’t shake free. smiled slyly & tried to act focused on what the presenter had to say. i couldn’t care less about what lessons this overpaid corporate stooge has for us. i’m sure that i’ve heard this stuff before. “acceptable workplace behavior.” eye roll. a bunch of badly-acted HR videos aren’t going to change a thing. it’s pretty clear. don’t be a creep. respect people’s boundaries. period. if you don’t get that by now, there’s not much more we can do for you.
