this morning #121.
this morning, she didn’t know what else to call it, so she called a spade a spade (it was actually a trowel). as she knelt down, dug up the dirt & dropped a sapling into it, she fully expected to get syrup from this sugar maple (it was actually a silver maple) a decade from now. she called across the yard to her boyfriend (he was actually just a friend), asking him to come check out her work. they’d first met at a church potluck (it was actually a cult dinner) a few years back. from there, she felt they were meant for each other & it was finally time. as a modern woman, SHE bought HIM a diamond ring (it was actually a diamond simulant ring). from her spot on the lawn, she would ask for his hand.
