this morning #110.
this morning, as he awoke in his childhood bedroom, he ran his hand through what remained of his once-glorious hair & put on his glasses. it’d been a week since his wife exiled him from their bedroom & he’d begun sleeping solo in here. when his parents died a few years back, he inherited their american colonial home & it was assumed that one day a child would occupy this room. when the doctor informed him that he was definitely shooting blanks, that scenario did not play out. for a while, what did play out took no one by surprise. over breakfast, that all changed. his wife, who he hadn’t touched all year, revealed her pregnancy. it would be the first of many surprises to come.
